Stalls Available at the August 1st Spur Show!
We just found out we are able to offer stalls in the tent at the August 1st Spur show. Stalls will be available from 7am - 6pm on August 1st. Cost is $20/stall plus an additional $20 deposit to be refunded if you strip your stall after use. To reserve a stall please come to the show office.
Show Clothes Optional!
Since the August 1st Spur show is right after the 4-H fair we are going to make show clothes optional for this show. Hopefully this will make it a little easier for all the tired 4-H kids and their parents to come and enjoy the show!
We will still be requiring boots, long pants, and shirts with at least a 4" sleeve. Helmets must be worn in the huntseat classes.
Jadine Bruner from Eye of the Horse Photography will be at the show to take pictures. Hope to see everyone August 1st.
Highpoint Awards for the July 11 Spur Show
We will be awarding embroidered directors chairs to the highpoint winner in each age division at the next Spur Show. Sneak peak below!
 
Spur Now Accepting Pre-Entries!
We would like to thank everyone for coming to the 1st Spur show last Sunday. We had an amazingly large turnout and surprisingly good weather! I hope everyone enjoyed the show. A special thanks goes out to everyone who volunteered their time to help run the show. We really appreciate your help to make the shows possible.
We realize the line at the booth first thing in the morning was rather long and caused the show to start late. In order to improve the morning entry process we are going to try taking pre-entries. If you would like to send in your entry instead of waiting in line in the morning please mail a completed entry form, your check, and a copy of your coggins test to Stella Clarke, 3285 West Delhi Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. All pre-entries MUST be received by May 30th or you will need to enter at the show as usual.
We are also going to try closing the entries to the first 3 classes (halter and color) at 7:45am, to make it possible to start the show on time. We hope these changes continue to improve everyone's experience at the Spur shows and make things run much more smoothly!
Reminder Early Bird Discount Expires April 15th 2010!
Get your Sponsorships, Memberships and Back Number reservations in by April 15th to take advantage of the early bird discount. Don't forget if you bring in 5 sponsors you get to show at 1 show for FREE!

Stalls Available for Spring Roundup and the May 9th Spur Show
We will be offering stalls again this year for the May 9th Spur show. Stalls will be available at 8am on May 8th through 6pm on May 9th. All reservations must be received by Friday April 30th. Cost is $20/stall plus an additional $20 deposit to be refunded if you strip your stall after use.
To reserve a stall please send two checks for $20 (one stall fee and one deposit) made out to the Washtenaw Farm Council. Anyone wanting to stable together should send reservations in together. Reservations should be sent to the following address:

Spur Banquet 2009
This years annual Spur banquet will be at Weber's Inn, Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 1pm. Click here for flyer. Please RSVP by December 1st.
Also, we will be looking for members willing to fill vacant officer positions. We will be taking nominations at the banquet. If you are interested and unable to attend please let one of the current officers know.

Spur Year End Survey 2009
Spur is conducting an end of year survey. We have emailed all the members who have email addresses on file. Membership Discount Extended Through May 10, 2009
The $5 membership discount has been extended through the end of the May 10th Spur Show. Memberships must be paid at or before the show in order to receive the discount and be eligible to start accumulating points towards year end awards.
New for 2009 Stable Overnight Before the May 10th Spur Show
Ever wished you could leave your horse at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds after the 4-H Spring Round Up to make it easier to attend the Spur show the following day? Well this year you can! Stabling will be available in the cement floor barn from 12 Noon on May 9th until 12 Noon on May 10th. Stalls will cost $25 and must be cleaned after use. Contact Roxanne for reservations.
Spur is Awarding $1 Coins for 1st - 6th Place in ALL Classes
New in 2009 Spur will be giving out $1 coins instead of ribbons for 1st - 6th place in all classes. Prefer to receive a ribbon? Just exchange your $1 coin at the secretary's stand for a traditional Spur ribbon.
