The Spur Shows Are Moving!
You may have heard that Spur is moving to a new show ground. The rumors are
true and the board is excited to announce that the 2012 Spur shows will be held
at Woodbine Farm, 9976 West Liberty Road, Chelsea, MI 48118. Woodbine Farm
is a dedicated horse show facility, and has been for many years. You may
remember it under its former name of Stoney Ridge Farm.
Woodbine Farm offers 2 large show arenas and 2 practice arenas. The arenas
will be groomed, watered and stone free! There is plenty of parking for trailers
as well as 50 permanent stalls available in the barn with convenient water.
Stalls will be $25, and you will not be required to strip them at the end of the
show. There are indoor and outdoor wash-racks for horses stalling overnight. If
you don’t want to bring them, shavings will be available on the grounds for $8. Overnight camping with hookups is available for $25. Also, if the weather
turns nasty we will be able to use the indoor arena.

Spur Banquet 2011
This years annual Spur banquet will be at Weber's Inn, Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 1pm. Click here for flyer. Tickets will be available at the last show with a $2 discount or by mail at the regular price. A few tickets will be available at the door but they will be more expensive. Please RSVP by November 5th.
Also, we are looking for members who would like to become more involved with the club! If you are interested in volunteering, being a trustee or a board member please contact one of the current board members or talk to us at the banquet. We would love to have your help!
Pre-Enter for the 1st Spur Show and Win a Prize!
Spur members may pre-enter for each show. All pre-entries will be entered into a drawing for a prize. The winner will be announced during the lunch break at the show.
To pre-enter fill out an entry form and either email it to Stella@SpurHorseShow.com, and then bring your check and coggins to the booth before your first class. Or, mail your entry form, check and coggins to Stella at 3285 West Delhi Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. All pre-entries must be recieved by the Friday before the show.

- Don't Forget to send in your Memberships in by April 15th to take advantage of the early bird discount. Don't forget if you bring in 5 sponsors you get to show at 1 show for FREE!

Stalls and Camping Available at ALL of the 2011 Spur Shows
We will be offering stalls and camping this year at all 5 of the Spur shows. You can haul in on Saturday from 6pm to 8pm or Sunday morning after 7am. Stalls are available on a first come first served basis for $40 (bring your own bedding) with $20 refunded when you clean your stall. Camping is $15/night and includes water/electrical hookups. Dump station on grounds.

Stalls Available at the August 1st Spur Show!
We just found out we are able to offer stalls in the tent at the August 1st Spur show. Stalls will be available from 7am - 6pm on August 1st. Cost is $20/stall plus an additional $20 deposit to be refunded if you strip your stall after use. To reserve a stall please come to the show office.
Show Clothes Optional!
Since the August 1st Spur show is right after the 4-H fair we are going to make show clothes optional for this show. Hopefully this will make it a little easier for all the tired 4-H kids and their parents to come and enjoy the show!
We will still be requiring boots, long pants, and shirts with at least a 4" sleeve. Helmets must be worn in the huntseat classes.
Jadine Bruner from Eye of the Horse Photography will be at the show to take pictures. Hope to see everyone August 1st.
Highpoint Awards for the July 11 Spur Show
We will be awarding embroidered directors chairs to the highpoint winner in each age division at the next Spur Show. Sneak peak below!
 
Spur Now Accepting Pre-Entries!
We would like to thank everyone for coming to the 1st Spur show last Sunday. We had an amazingly large turnout and surprisingly good weather! I hope everyone enjoyed the show. A special thanks goes out to everyone who volunteered their time to help run the show. We really appreciate your help to make the shows possible.
We realize the line at the booth first thing in the morning was rather long and caused the show to start late. In order to improve the morning entry process we are going to try taking pre-entries. If you would like to send in your entry instead of waiting in line in the morning please mail a completed entry form, your check, and a copy of your coggins test to Stella Clarke, 3285 West Delhi Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. All pre-entries MUST be received by May 30th or you will need to enter at the show as usual.
We are also going to try closing the entries to the first 3 classes (halter and color) at 7:45am, to make it possible to start the show on time. We hope these changes continue to improve everyone's experience at the Spur shows and make things run much more smoothly!
