Spur is at the Wayne County Fairgrounds the Weekend of June 20-21
The first Spur Sweepstakes Show is this weekend June 20-21 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Belleville. This weekend is also the Belleville Strawberry Festival. If you are coming to the Spur show from the south remember some of the roads through downtown Belleville will be closed for the Strawberry Festival.
Membership Discount Extended Through May 10, 2009
The $5 membership discount has been extended through the end of the May 10th Spur Show. Memberships must be paid at or before the show in order to receive the discount and be eligible to start accumulating points towards year end awards.
New for 2009 Stable Overnight Before the May 10th Spur Show
Ever wished you could leave your horse at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds after the 4-H Spring Round Up to make it easier to attend the Spur show the following day? Well this year you can! Stabling will be available in the cement floor barn from 12 Noon on May 9th until 12 Noon on May 10th. Stalls will cost $25 and must be cleaned after use. Contact Roxanne for reservations.
Spur is Awarding $1 Coins for 1st - 6th Place in ALL Classes
New in 2009 Spur will be giving out $1 coins instead of ribbons for 1st - 6th place in all classes. Prefer to receive a ribbon? Just exchange your $1 coin at the secretary's stand for a traditional Spur ribbon.
Spur of the Moment Horse Club Spring Meeting
After the completion of a successful show season in 2008 it's time gear up for 2009. This meeting will cover changes for 2009 that were created from member input.

Spur of the Moment Horse Club is Seeking Donations
The current trail equipment is showing it's age. The club would appreciate the following donations
- Cones
- Outdoor Paint (preferably white)
- 55 gallon barrels
- Bridge
- 8ft landscape limbers (12)
Spur of the Moment Horse Club is Looking for Sponsors for the 7 Sweepstakes Classes at the Wayne County Shows.

Blanket Fee Now Offered At Wayne County Spur Shows
Spur is pleased to be able to offer a blanket fee for the Wayne County shows. The blanket fee will include all age division classes, both pleasure and speed, plus your stall for the weekend. It will not include junior horse or sweepstakes classes.
- Member Blanket Fee $100
- Non-Member Blanket Fee $150
Spur Now Offers Two Separate Show Series!
Starting in 2009 Spur will be holding separate shows at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Belleville as well as at the Washtenaw County Fairgrounds in Ann Arbor. We are returning to 5 shows at Washtenaw County Fairgrounds with Year End Awards and creating 2 Weekend Sweepstakes Shows with Weekend Champion prizes at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. We hope to gain some new members from Wayne County!
